Dental Services

Cleanings

Teeth cleanings aid in preventing a variety of dental diseases. As we brush our teeth, we leave behind tartar that our toothbrushes and floss cannot remove. This builds up overtime and can cause discoloration of teeth and inflammation leading to gingivitis and periodontitis.

Gingivitis is inflammation of the gums. Periodontitis is inflammation of the gums and bone that support the teeth. Left untreated, the teeth may begin to loosen and/or fall out. We recommend you receive professional cleanings and check-ups at least once every six months. More frequent visits may be necessary for restoration of optimal dental health.

Flouride Treatment Therapy

Fluoride varnish is a standard treatment many dentists recommend. It combats tooth decay by nourishing your tooth enamel.

Dental Sealants

Dental sealants are plastic coatings applied to the grooves of the back teeth that help prevent cavities. We suggest children and adults receive dental sealants on permanent teeth in hard-to-reach places, such as the molars (molars begin to erupt around 6 years of age). Dental sealants are completely safe and are clear or tooth-colored. Placement is a simple, pain-free procedure.

Tooth Extractions

There are many reasons teeth may need to be removed – severe decay, extra teeth, gum disease, fractured teeth, or planned removal of wisdom teeth. Our dentists can perform simple extractions as well as many surgical extractions. Again, your comfort is our goal.

Fillings

Dental fillings are a common dental procedure necessary to restore a tooth to proper form and function and to remove cavities (tooth decay). The procedure requires the tooth decay to be removed and the cavity to be restored with a filling material.

Crowns & Bridges

When tooth decay is too extensive to be restored with a filling, a crown covering the entire tooth above the gums may be needed. A bridge replaces 1 or 2 missing teeth by anchoring the replacement teeth to the teeth in front and in back of the missing teeth. These procedures usually require multiple visits in order to accurately match the crown or bridge to your mouth and to allow the crown or bridge to be made by the dental lab.

Dentures

Sometimes, for various reasons, teeth cannot be saved. When the decision is made to remove teeth, replacement of missing teeth should be considered to restore function, appearance and peace of mind.

A partial denture can replace multiple teeth on either the upper or lower jaw with a single prosthetic device. It can also help maintain the proper position of the remaining teeth. Complete dentures are a replacement of all teeth of the upper or lower jaw. Both prosthetic devices involve multiple appointment procedures.

Root Canal

Root canal therapy is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or infected. Decay is removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. A filling or a crown is put in place depending on the individual circumstances.
