What services are provided in Family Medicine?
Chronic Disease Management
Our providers can diagnose, treat and manage chronic diseases. Effective chronic disease management is accomplished by regularly consulting with a medical team that has the ability to test and treat. Please contact us for more information about these services.
PrairieStar is fortunate to have Dr. DeAnna Marshall, serving as a Diabetic Counselor, working along with practitioners to help our patients who have diabetes. Dr. Marshall understands the disease and can help patients learn how it relates to physical activity and diet, and answer questions and concerns.
Medical Services
Our family physicians and providers are focused on prevention as well as caring for chronic health issues. We pride ourselves on taking expert care of our patients. PrairieStar’s highly-skilled professional physicians will always listen and respond to our patient’s needs.
Minor Illness Care
Feeling under the weather? Make a regular “next-available” appointment with your primary care provider. If you need same-day care, consider our Walk-In Clinic. Illnesses can spring up any time of the year. Our medical laboratory and imaging department will help our providers diagnose your problem, so you can get back to a healthier you.
Sports Medicine
Our specialization in sports medicine allows us to diagnose and treat a wide variety of aches and pains including but not limited to fracture care, concussions, and arthritis pain. Additionally, our sports medicine team can provide additional procedures for when conservative management does not suffice. From joint injections to nerve blocks, these special procedures can provide significant pain relief. Your family physician would be happy to discuss this further and can refer you to our team to assist in your musculoskeletal needs.
Physical Examinations
Physical examinations are an important part of preventive health care and should be scheduled every six months to a year. Physicals are comprehensive medical examinations and include a review of your medical history. Comprehensive medical exams are benchmarks to help prevent future problems and assist you in taking an active role in your health care.
During this visit, you are encouraged to ask your provider about health concerns you have. You will receive valuable information to assist you in decision-making. Sports physicals, elective physicals, work physicals – any physicals are always provided by appointment.
Hours: 8 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday.
If medical assistance is needed after hours, patients should call the office number (620.663.8484) and an operator will connect them with our on-call provider.
