For a fourth time, PrairieStar Health Center has been awarded the National Quality Leader award by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
On Monday November 6, HRSA announced the winners of the 2023 national quality awards.
“Health centers are cornerstones of their communities, providing essential preventive and primary care for more than 30 million patients who face significant barriers,” HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra, said in Monday’s press release.
These awards recognize the nation’s top performing community health centers for providing the highest quality care to improve health outcomes
PrairieStar was awarded the National Quality Leader award in heart health for the fourth time in the last five years, an award that is only awarded to the top 1-2% of all Federally Qualified Health Centers in the nation, PrairieStar is the only healthcare facility in Kansas to receive this award four times since the award has been given.
“As a four-time National Quality Leader, we know that patient satisfaction and the relationships we build, continue to produce patient treatment effectiveness and quality care,” PrairieStar Chief Quality Officer, Mona Broomfield, said.
PrairieStar also received the Health Center Quality Leader Gold award and the National Quality Leader award for advancing healthcare IT. Awarded to only 10% of health centers in the nation, the Health Center Quality Leader Gold award recognizes health centers who are the best overall performers in delivering clinical quality. There were only two winners of this award in Kansas.
